OP make sure that the garage doing the repairs actually replaces what they say has failed. From what you describe "clutch pedal snapped" this sounds more likely to be the master or slave cylinders and not the actual plate and release bearing. As someone earlier said, having all three components go at the same time sounds a tad strange.

    Thanks rednose.

Yes, it is the clutch master cylinder, as well as clutch and clutch bearing. That was from another garage who inspected, not the dealer.

I'm keeping an eye on it but reckon he'll just want it out of the way and me back on the road asap -not knocking on his door again!

To be fair its not that unusual, If a clutch goes "hard" ie seizing up then somethings got to give. If you think of exerting the pressure against an imovable force then the weakest link will break and replacing the weakest link will not cure the problem ie replacing a slave cylinder will not cure a seized clutch and if the slave cylinder has been weakened enough to burst a seal then the master cylinder could also have been weakened without leaking ...yet !
I think the repairer is doing the right thing for everyone concerned in changing the lot, the owner will have peace of mind and the seller will know they won't be back. At least not with that problem ;)

I should think the dealer you bought it from has offered to repair it free of charge since you only had the car for such a short time and didn't cover many miles in it. My mother bought a 5 year old Fiesta from a garage and after 3 months the clutch went. She hadn't asked the garage about warranty at the time of buying the car (foolish, but there we go), but rang them and asked. They asked her why she was asking and when she told them, got the response, get it repaired (she lived over 100 miles away from the garage), send us the bill and we will reimburse you the cost in full, which they did by return.

The car has to be fit for purpose, and the car you bought clearly isn't.
