  • If anyone ever invents a gambling system that really wins, the last thing they'll ever do is share it!

Hi i know i`m jumping on an old post here but madbid is not technically gambling, its a bidding site just like Ebay - with a twist.

There has been a number of posts on MSE regarding madbid so i`m sure i am just repeating, but its such a lucrative idea i just wish i thought of it :D.

Obviously madbid are making an absolute killing, but the user knows what they are getting into...?? and will at some point save money. Did i read that you can redeem your bids back? - now thats weird.

I`ve just seen a link on facebook thats going around for winoneofthese.com - going to have a look and report back:j

I wouldn't waste your time, seriously, we tend to be a savvy lot on here and won't throw our money away on dodgy sites.

  • Hi
I went on this site yesterday for the first time and won 3 cordless panasonic phones for £0.43p, they have a RRP of £70.00. I used free credits to bid and payed the £0.77p admin fee.

I have now deleted my account and will not return after making a cool profit :-)

    OKdokey

Thank you for that. I am sure all the regulars have now formed entirely their own opinion of a site that is praised by a brand new user who just happened to join MSE to post.

You have probably just killed fof any hint of reputation they may have had.

the starting price from £0 does not mean anything, it just makes for a lot lower bets than for example ebay. You also pay per bid and people say it becoming a gambling game.

A big deceiving point is also that the bid are really low on time, always just about to expire. What the homepage doesn't tell you is that time refreshes to the latest minute or last 10 sec. That is a brilliant ploy as with very low bid people get in to very long bidding wars, hopefully automated.

Companies like this splashing out reminds me more of the dot-com bubble in 2001. Watch-out.

    Wow, that is brilliant. :T
Winning 3 items like that on your first visit, is miraculous, to have already sold them for a profit within a day, you must have been kissed by an angel. Or kissed the blarney stone, or maybe just spouting a load of old baloney.
A fool & their money etc.

Im with Soolin on this one, I heard about madbid last year and so did some of my friends, one has got into serious debt because he won an Ipod then kept bidding for other things, soon he was addicted, his wife went nuts at him :(

I used my free bids then stopped going on it as I could have got carried away too :o

made an ASA complaint about this lot as in their newest adverts and on their web site they state :-

MadBid.com is being described as the future of online shopping by many in the UK and across Europe. At MadBid we offer a unique and exciting way to shop online.

but in my view it is NOT online shopping as nowhere on the site are you able to "buy" the goods but purely bid on them
