Kids bedroom TV's after switchover?

Hi we have Sky on our main TV and a 'magic eye' up in our bedroom with sky but kids both have normal TV in their rooms. I dont really want to pay out for multi room sky and if Im honest I dont really want them to ahve access to Sky in their rooms anyway as Id rather they just had basic channels, what is best solution. I have heard that even if we get them a freeview box each our aerial may not be suitable. Im a bit of a technophobe so have put it off but now only have 3 weeks left before they start complaining!! Suggestions would be welcome.

You say that your children have "normal" tv in their bedrooms. Therefore there must be an aerial somewhere. You don't say why this would not be suitable. Why not borrow a Freeview box from a friend/neighbour/relative/colleague and try it.

If it doesn't work then your options are keep things as they are, get Sky multi room, or put a second LNB on the dish and let them have Freesat. While you have Sky.

For some reason I was under impression we needed a new aerial which was able to receive a digital signal, will try and borrow a freeview box and see what happens, thx for that

All aerials will recieve a "digital signal". The only slight complication is that the signal is broadcast on a frequency which may or may not be outwith the optimum range of your aerial either now or after the switchover. For most people, it probably makes little difference (and will make less so when power is increased after switchover). As suggested, borrow a Freeview box and try it if you can. It'll probably be fine.
