hello
i sold some tickets on ebay and the buyer emailed me late on the night before they finished saying they no longer could go to the concert due to work commitments and could i cancel their bids, they were the highest bidder, i did not receive this message until the auction finished at ten in the morning the next day, she wouldn’t pay and now i opened a dispute she is saying i should have cancelled her bids because she asked. will she win the dispute or will i? Also she only has 3 feedback
thanks

You will win the dispute unless they pay but they might give you negative feedback. You will only get you final value fees back not full payment.0

so they can leave neg feedback then?0

You may win the dispute, but you won't get any money. There is little Ebay will do other than give them a NPB strike and get your fees refunded.
You could try and offer them to the second highest bidder. They may be still interested.0 -

Then 2nd chance the tickets. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

How qickly did you open the dispute? I am just a bit worried that you might not have waited the full 7 days and have therefore gone for a mutual.
Can you confirm you opened a full non paying bidder dispute?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If she cannot go, she cannot go. The other thing is, that she might not even have the cash and that is why she canceled it. She did email the night BEFORE (when it wasn't even sure she will be the winning bidder) so it might be genuine. I don't know what the rules are, but I would just go and quickly do a Second chance offer to the next bidder (you won't get much less money).
And then block her or strike her or something.
No point of trying to get the money out of her. Sounds like too much hassle for nothing if you don't even get your money if you win (if Bap is right).0 -
hello i did wait the full seven days, thanks i will second chance them, i can do that while having the dispute open. thanks for all your help0

Yes, she isn't going to pay, so no point in my opinion of chasing the money owed.
I have had people message me in the past regarding canceling the bids placed on the auction listing, for various reasons, from i "bidded in error" how is that possible? There are countless stages of confirmation! and also "someone else in my house bidded on it using my account" which is a surprisingly commonplace excuse. She left it a little late to email you requesting cancellation but in eBays eyes she "did" email you requesting a bid retraction therefore i believe eBay would side with her, even with her measly 3 feedback.
No they wouldn't. Things with ebay are very black and white, did she bid ? Yes, then seller is entitled to do a full NPB on her and give her a strike. Two strikes and she effectively bans herself from buying on ebay.
Buyers can withdraw there own bids anyway if they do it before the last 12 hours, so she had pleanty of time.
Remember everyone to set your seller preferences to stop non payers even bidding on your auctions:
Start from here to set buyer requirements to exclude overseas bidders or bidders with NPB strikes etc.

Unfortunately, you can't force someone to pay. She could get a unpaid strike, but with 3 feedback, could just close that account and start again with nothing lost.
2nd chance offer seems your best bet of getting something. I think you can also sell tickets through play.com now if that helps.0
