Hi,
We are currently with Pipex. Account is in OH's name. We would like to change to O2 home broadband in my name.
When I change my elecetricity supplier, all I did was to contact the new supplier and they took care of everything else. Is this the same with changing ISP OR does my OH have to inform Pipex that we are cancelling the contract and then I inform O2 we want to join?
Can someone please tell what's the normal procedure to change ISP?
Thanks.

Normal procedure for broadband provided over BT's network is to ask your current provider for a MAC which you then pass to your new supplier. This doesn't automatically cancel your existing contract though so best contact Pipex to find out what their procedure is.
Make sure you ask for the MAC first in case they put a cease on your line making things more expensive/complicated.
They have 5 working days to provide the MAC (Migration authorisation code).
Depending how your broadband is supplied at the moment, LLU?, you might get a MAC which is not accepted by other suppliers or not get one at all (LLU MAC not covered by Ofcom regs).
Good luck!0 -

Hi reserved,
I did google and found articles similar to teh 1st link that you mentioned. Found it too technical.
Used your 2nd link and found out that we are LLU-enabled.0
