Have I been conned into buying a new ariel?

Your existing tv aerial should be wideband and suitable for DTV.
A common misconception. The aerial should be suitable for the transmitter at which it is pointed. If that happens to be Crystal Palace then a narrowband "Group 'A' Yagi" aerial is likely to give the best results while a "wideband Yagi" would give the worst.0 -
But, surely, the ariel fitter should know what ariel is right for my area. I agree with asking him before I take it any further, but I am trying to work out whether this was an honest mistake or not. There is also another problem now, we seem to be picking up something else in the background, sounds like a radio station. I have retuned it without success but is really annoying.. I realise that may be a combination of ariel, 3rd faulty HDR etc but when I talk to him I need to get my facts straight and I really appreciate your comments.0
