Hello
I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I have booked flights for my family (2 adults, 2 year old and 3 month old baby) to barcelona. We are spending 3 nights in barcelona then getitng the train to costa brava for 7 nights- either pineda, santa susanna or malgrat? I was hoping to get a all inclusive hotel, my criteria being good food, child friendly, swimming pools and entertainment! However after reading many reviews on hotels i really cant seem to find one that fits the bill!
I have never been on an all inclusive before but im assuming with the exchange rate they will be better value - providing the food is edible! My budget is up to £550.
Any help very appreciated

Have a look at Royal Sun in Santa Susanna. We went a couple of years ago for a cheap last minute break in the sun and were pleasantly surprised. Great location, yards from the beach, food ok (similar standard to most Med AI hotels). One down side is there is a train track behind the hotel which can be noisy if you are at the back of the hotel. Never bothered us to be fair. Going back in May for another try to see if anything has changed. Hope this helps.0

Thank you for your help, I had been thinking about this hotel as so far it seems to tick the most boxes! The train line would actually be an advantage as we have a "train obsessed" toddler! May I ask who you booked with? So far the best rate I have found is £114 a night which seems a bit high?0

Have a look at www.tripadvisor.com you get reviews from people have stayed at the hotels.
There is also a popularity index.
http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotels-g635892-Santa_Susana_Costa_Brava_Catalonia-Hotels.html
Then go to Moneysupermarket.com to search for the cheapest price;
www.moneysupermarket.com
I always check reviews for hotels before I book.
You could also look for travel insurance on there.
Hope this helps!0 -
i'd also go with the royal sun. it is one of HTOP's better hotels.
try http://www.xcapewithus.com/
or
http://www.findmeaccom.com/
for accomodation. i have used both regularly and find them very good.
you could also try travel republic.
for details of other htop hotels (maybe the amaika in calella) have a look here

I'm just wondering if you will have to pay anything for your 2 year old if you go all-inclusive. If not great but if you do how much will they eat? will you get your money's worth?0

what dates are you looking for?0

im looking for 9th-16th june. i think i have to pay for my 2 year old as need a larger room to accomodate us.
i was wondering whether prices are likely to go up nearer the time or would i get a better deal if i hold out?
thanks for all your help0 -
The cheapest I found was £596.34 with www.lowcostholidays.com
That's not much over your £550 budget.
They don't add much on for the 2yr old anyway.0 -
Oh that was priced for the 9th-16th June at the Royal sun.0

Thanks for your reply unfortunately the Royal Sun in santa susanna has now gone! Im completely confused where to go now and worried as the prices are going up! Has anyone stayed in Calella or Pineda i saw a couple of hotels there but they did seem to be quite far from the beach?
Also is it possibel to haggle for hotels over the phone? Ive tried calling Lowcostholidays.com but their prices were higher than online!
thanks again for all your help:rotfl:0
