Its a Traffic Management Order, briefly it is the legal paperwork which makes the particular parking situation compliant with the legislation/local traffic policy.

They need to have this properly in order to grant tickets.

I would say we have all been here, sometimes repeatedly and would like to see we at least get a fair deal in these matters - Very often we don't.

I checked my gps today after having found the nearest parking meter. It is 320 meters away. That means that I would be expected to walk a round trip of half a mile to get a ticket.

I phoned the number on the meter and asked what I should do if the meter is broken, in view of the fact of the distance of the other meter. I was told I should goto the other meter of the same price and buy a ticket.

I asked what if I got a ticket whilst I was walking there and was told that I should drive to the other meter and if there are no spaces there, buy a ticket and drive back to the other bays and display the ticket there.

I asked what if the bays at the other location are then full after I have bought a ticket?, and was told "that would be unfortunate for you, sir".

I hate these people. They have no morals. As I said before though, I have been meaning to start working earlier for some time, so I will be able to park free till 8:30am right infront of the job, and also save about £200 per year. Win/Win. (im just trying to find the possitive in the situation, else i would cry)

check the TMO as advised. it is available to view to any interested party by right (do NOT use FOI). wherever the Council direct you and often at main libraries.

Don't you just love camden council. :D
I think you must have some sort of record for 4 years parking there, & no tickets up til now. Perhaps there is a prize?

Why would he get a PCN when he always pays?

That was my point exactly. If I always park in the same place and always pay then I was hoping they would see that I was more than happy to pay last week, if the meter had been working. I was hoping that I might find a reasonable soul to hear my appeal who would reward honesty rather than penalise some unfortunate person who fell foul of their hoops.

Having read case reports of other unfortunates I now realise that there is rarely any reasoning with such people. But I still live in hope that my appeal will be reviewed by someone who is human and understands the difference between people who "take a chance" and those who try their best to stick within the rules.

anyway, enough moaning from my part, lifes too short. I will tell you all how I get on. Thanksfor the kind support.:T:T

Camden & lambeth are particularly bad for tickets. It doesn't matter if you've actually paid. You get tickets for all sorts of other reasons, like tyres just over lines, ticket on window not windscreen, wrong ticket for zone etc. Quite often the time on the ticket machine is slightly wrong, meaning you return late by a minute or two.
