Car Tax renew now at a cheaper price or not????

The new 5 day exemption relates to a police offence of failing to exhibit a Vehicle Excise Licence (VEL). This was due to online taxing to allow for the post. The Agency unofficially allows a 14 days period of grace to tax your vehicle. You must have been the registered
keeper before the VEL expired and the it must be taxed from the begining of that month.

If you park on grass verges and car parks and you are not taxed you are committing an offence.

Surely that depends very much on who owns the grass verge/car park.

This thread has made me wonder...I have just SORN'd a vehicle. Will I get the tax back at the rate I paid or at the new rate?

You'll get a pro-rata refund as per the rate you paid. Any full months remaining on disc with be refunded.
