So, on 15th Dec, which is cheapest...........

Yes, it is 15th Dec, can anyone tell me which mobile phone currently has the cheapest monthly tarif, irrespective of provider and model.

This phone will be required as a basic, use in an emergency item.

I suppose a PAYG phone would be best for this usage, then a free or near to free model would be ideal.

  • You can still get a "free" deal with cashback from the e-tailers mentioned across the board (e.g. OSPS).

If you don't want this type of free deal, then the cheapest alternative is to get a secondhand handset (make sure it's been unlocked) and buy a payg SIM.

Nokiia 3510i on Orange PAYG - from either Orange or Argos.
    Only £29.99

Can be unlocked for free at http://www.trycktill.com/eng so that you can put a PAYG SIM from another network in the handset, should Orange not be any use in your area.

Thankyou for that and welcome back, I'd missed seeing your posts. I will inform my son when he calls later today.

No probs Island Man. Glad I could help.

There are also a number of other cheap models available at £30 or less (I'm sure you've already seen the list I recently posted on my site) but the 3510i is probably the best option as it's a no nosense kind of phone and can be unlocked for free.

    all the best,

  • Hi RM

Just read your post regarding unlocking a Nokia 3510i.

Went to the website you suggested, input all the info asked for, followed their instructions, input code 7, result one unlocked phone. Thanks.

  • Don't forget Virgin PAYG call charges are roughly half those of Orange.
