but cats will go wherever they want unless you are willing to keep them locked up.

So do Teenagers but no one can kidnap them and entice them away from their families :D
  • March round her house with your cat basket, tell her you have booked him in for his vaccinations and you need to take him. Then don't give him back. What can she do, say you stole her cat? If you are passionate about this then you really have to show her! Think about what you want to say before going and it won't get out of hand. She might get defensive, but that is because she knows she is in the wrong. Legally he is yours and of course a cat can be stolen. But don't let her assume any more responsibility for the cat by letting her sort his vaccinations out, then that means you are accepting the situation.

Put down a few litter trays in the house to solve his dirty protest problem and keep him in for a while so he can re adjust to his loving family.
    Good luck.

You should be able to get your PCSOs number from your local police website? In my experinece, Sunday is as good a day as ever to get hold of them.

I have him back!! Yay. Go me :T

I spotted him, called him and he came running like the doppy git always did! I think he had missed me. I swooped him up and took him home.

I have ordered a new collar for him with 'Diabetic please do not feed' stitched into it (many thanks to the link earlier!!)

Fingers crossed when he does go back round there, as I know he will, she will not feed him thinking he is diabetic. I'm going to take him to the vets to have him checked over anyway so I hope I haven't tempted fate by getting that collar!!

You may want to back that up with a text to her saying you've just come back from the vets, the vet told you about your poor cats 'new' condition,

I think with this lady being a bit stubborn a collar saying diabetic may not be enough, also maybe make some posters up (you have a pc) picture of your cat and saying about the cats 'illness', i know it seems a bit much but, you seem very passionate about your cat..
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

Congratulations TopBird :j:j- i hope you can keep him in now at least for a few weeks so he remembers where his home is. i am a bit pessamistic about the diabetic collar dissuading her - maybe "i am microchipped as the property of ---- " would be better. you could alwasy have a disc made up to add to your collar - but you do what you feel is right as he is your kitty.

i am just so delighted that you have got him home:T
  • YAY!!! wtg topbird, if you do see her go voer and thank her for caring for him but now he's on a special diet *sigh* as vet just informed you he's diabetic *sigh* you have to be careful what he eats so you can medicate him. let her know you 'll keep her updated with how he is and you never know maybe she'll actually listen to you

and if she doesn't report the beyotch and get a restraining order (JOKE)

Look. You are REALLY missing the point BIG TIME.

She has NOT stolen your cat. She NEVER stole your cat. No wonder the police couldn't get rid of you fast enough. You are off into never never land comparing it to kidnapping teenagers.

Has she kept the cat locked up in her house?
    No
    Has she sold it?
    No
Has she sent it away a hundred miles?
    No.

What she has chosen to do, which is NOT illegal, is to feed it, and in such a way that for whatever feline reasons, your mog prefers her house, on the whole, to yours.

Your only realistic step in this situation is to keep the cat locked up, not so that your batty neighbour can't 'steal him away from you', but so that your cat CANNOT choose to leave home. If you choose to lock him up, then fine. If you don't, then be prepared for when he leaves home again, either for her, or for whoever else catches his fancy. It really is no good giving yourself heartburn and heartache when you can solve the problem so easily. You can't have your cake and eat it - you either let him roam and accept the consequences or you turn him into a house cat.

YAY!! .... now shut that door and don't let the Cruella D'Evil of cats lure him again!

CFC what upset us on the OP's behalf is that this stupid woman had been trying to get this cat ... using whatever means she could. She wasn't just being nice and feeding what she thought may be a stray ... and she took the opportunity to rub OP's nose in it too ...

OP ... I would keep the cat in now ... my cat lives in the conservatory so I built a cat run over the door of the conservatory .. she gets to lay out there, on the lawn but in safety ... from cars, other cats, and people who are just malicious enough to go out of their way to tice your cat away then tell you they've done so!!

Either that, or send round the heavy mob (that's us lot!) to give her the Scarborough warning and scare her off!!

PS from what you say she is like, I don't think the collar will make a blind bit of difference ... she'd probably just take it off.

... while I think on ... there is some fencing stuff you can erect too, in your garden ... it kind of bends in and over at the top ... supposedly keeps your cat in your own garden, so that would mean it could enjoy the garden and unless your neighbour was Spiderwoman, she couldn't get to it!

Am sure I saw someone else mention this product a bit ago ... cat proofing? Cat proof fencing .. ?? Can't recall exactly what it was called ... someone will know!
