iphone and o2 problems

Options

I recently bought an iphone and whilst i think it's the best thing since sliced bread, annoyingly i keep losing reception.

Odd thing is on my phone it will show full recepetion, but when i go to make a call i cant get through to anyone, and people cant get though to me?

Anyone else having this problem?

I have noticed it a few times recently when receiving calls. Apparently, people are calling me but getting put straight through to the answer service despite my reception bar being on full and the data network symbol showing (not that that should make any difference). Rather than the phone ringing my phone just shows the total balance remaining (I have the pay an go version of the phone). It's strange because at first I thought it was because I was using the safari mobile internet browser or an app but it seems to happen when I'm not even using the phone.

Not sure if it is a problem with the phone itself of with o2's service. Hopefully it is just temporary and if it is an iPhone problem then with any luck it will be solved by a software upgrade!

have you changed your sim? you may need an updated 3g sim, customer serivce or a store can give you one

    Hi

i used the sim provided with the phone which is only a few months old, so i wouldn't think it was that, getting annoying as it can take 30 seconds to make a call sometimes

Hi, this is going to sound very strange however if you hold the phone and your fingers cover the bottom of the phone near the docking port you can cut the signal off - this is a pretty common issue with the iphone and O2 should have told you about it.
