Removing a mobile phone pin - help!

I have a mobile phone for which I cannot remember the pin. Is there any way to remove the pin from the phone?

Is the pin actually on the phone itself or on the SIM card, or can you set one for both?

PIn can be either on the mobile or the SIM, if you put the SIM in another handset does it ask for the PIN, once you know it's a bit easier, if it's on the phone you reset it within the phone but you need the security code for the phone normally, if it's on the SIM, you could just get it wrong block the SIM then ring your network up and ask for the relevant PUK code for your SIM and you can then create a new PIN for that
