My orange contract phone just came? But calls are barred? Help???

Okay so my nice new shiny contract phone is here

I have it on orange

I acitvated etc online.

I cant call anyone as it says all calls from this number are barred?

My 1st ever contract with orange, been with o2 my life, and i called their customer support.

Utter idiots didnt have a CLUE what they were doing on hold forever

They tell me its all okay and will work now.

Hours later still not working, I really cant face calling again. They kept thinking id upgraded too had to keep pointing out Im new.

Im starting to regret changing already

Any one who can help me fix it?

have you switched it on and off(stupid question yes) but it's what could trigger a SIM update or a reconnection to the network may now find it unbarred

Try removing battery, Removing Sim, Putting battery in without sim, Turn on, Take battery out, Put sim in, Turn on.

Most phones are sent out with a transit block on them, you need to call CS to get it removed (it's placed in case it gets stolen before it gets to you).
