Ebay Help please

Hi I tried to log into my ebay account last night but couldnt, I did the reset password thing and finally got into my account to find 5 messages from ebay that had not arrived into my normal email account,1 said a password change had accurred ,another saying listing had been suspended which I hadnt listed, another saying account had been reinstated, another about a money transfer request, the final one informing me that someone had falsely used my account but that all my bank details are safe,i have changed passwords etc and nothing extra has gone out of my bank accounts, the messages were dated from 21 March what else should I be doing.I am not a big ebayer and only go on every 3 months or so to buy bits for the kids,But I am really worried about my bank accounts etc. Thanks

  • You need to contact them asap.

Their phone number seems to have disappeared from the site and they now have a 'Live Chat' function.
Go here - http://contact.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactUsNextGen and type something like 'unauthourised access' into the search box.

I hope you manage to get it sorted.

You must go to Live Help, emails will get useless replies.

Hi thought I would let you know what the live help said, There had been someone posting items for sale on my account they had also made 2 tranfer for money requests, ebay say that my bank account details are safe as they are encypted and that all my paypal monies and costs will be put back into my account, they say they dont no how it happened etc,but I am still concerned although no cash has actually gone out of my bank account my paypal account is now 0 although there wasnt too much in there, how certain can they be that my bank details are safe ,as I thought they were linked.they say they have forward my earlier emails to paypal, but no reply yet, should I be changing all my bank accounts.I want to close down my paypal account and ebay account but if I do this now I wont get back whats owed to me.sorry for the long post,

I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I check my ebay account every day as Im always selling or buying. I noticed when I logged in that there were a number of messages just the same as yours & saw that 3 listings had been removed by ebay as I hadnt put them there.
Fortunately no money had been taken from my Paypal account & it was all sorted pretty quickly, but i have no idea how someone was able to get in. I am very careful with my passwords etc & only ever enter the site via the ebay web addresss & not via emails.
I did a search on the listings & found that a couple had been re-listed under another users name so I advised ebay of this.
I havent been able to get emails from ebay ever since - I may have to try the live help to see what they can do as the automated woman is not cutting it any more!

Make sure you swing by the techie forum and ensure your computer is clean of malware which could have caused this.
