Tax the poor - not the rich

There are far more poor people, so we should take more of their money. plus more punitive rates will encourage people to earn more.

It should be:

0-10,000 = 60%

10k - 25k = 40%

25k - 50k = 20%

50k + = 10%

much fairer. and lets face it, the poor use most of theservices provided by our taxes.

Plus, private medical and private school fees should be tax deductible. There are 4000 kids without school places in London this year! If parents didn't send children private, this would be 20-30000 kids without school.

In any case, it is pure discrimination to charge people a higher rate as they earn more. why not charge men more, or blondes more, or black people more?? because it is discrimination.

There should be one rate of tax, at 25% and someone earning 10k will pay 2.5k and someone on 100k will pay 25k. That is fair. that is the only fair way.

Wrong. If you want to kick-start the economy you need to increase the amount of money the poorest have to spend. Why?

    a) There are more of them
    and
    b) Virtually all of their income goes straight back into the economy, because they have to spend a higher proportion of it through necessity.

  • apart from the usual lefty emotions of jelousy and spite, can anyone tell me a sensible reason for charging a higer rate of tax to those that have studied hard, worked hard and generally improved their lot in life?

Usually the rich are rich because of the poor anyway, so the poor need more money to buy luxuries from the companies own by the middle class. I am very surprised that the government decided to do this as normally like the old saying "money goes to money".
  • actually I am serious. I presume you are a lefty and cannot think of one reason why it is fair to charge higher earners a higher rate. don't feel bad you can't think of one. that is because there is no answer. it is just blatant discrimination.

What are you going on about you fool.

I am lucky to now have a far-higher-than-average wage but for 8 years i struggled on £12k P.A. Earning this kind of money leaves you with a poor quality of life so no i 110% disagree with taxing them more. I now pay around 50% in taxes already (40% tax over £36k or whatever and 15% VAT) but at the end of the day my disposable income is off the scale compared to how it was. Quality of life is better and overall i dont give a damn that i pay more.

They say the rich and greedy are selfish and judging by the media today i can see why. If you dont like my comments then shoot me.....

If we were to tax the poor more, wouldnt the extra tax your suggesting that comes from the poor come from ourselves.

Making it worse as people on benefits would pay more tax, which is our own tax money paying them.

i'm not that good with polical things, please excuse if I'm talking poo!.
