Hello all,
I've been more of a lurker on this forum but, have made one or two posts.
I went bankrupt on March 10th this year after losing my job at xmas. I'm now unemployed, bankrupt and waiting to see if the OR will take my car. To cap it all me and my partner have now finally split up!!
I am finding it hard to find another job and can't even get a cleaning job as I'm told I'm too over qualified !!!
I feel at my lowest ebb in life and am waiting for the next "hammer to the nail""
Sorry for feeling sorry for myself but, haven't really had any good news to cheer me up so far this year!!

Thats a brilliant idea. I work as a community nurse and am always being asked if I know any good cleaners on a small scale rather than the large cleaning companies. In the south west you could easily get £10-£12 per hour.0 -
Hi I am recently unemployed too and know how depressed it can make you feel(look at my post a wk or so ago:o)that coupled with a relationship break up,bc you are bound to feel low. I defy anybody with that amount of carp on their plates to feel otherwise. Maybe a trip to the dr's may be the next step just to help you get over this hurdle. Not a great lover of sedatives myself but i have had the need to submit to them on a few occassions in my life;). Keep talking to us here, it helped me, so i am sure it will help you. "Better out than in" & "Problem shared is a problem halved". Take care sweetheart. I agree, we used to have a cleaner and paid £35 per week for 1.5 hours! We also used to have a gardener who came over and cut the grass and then tidied the bushes for £30. This gardener used to just knock door to door to people with scruffy gardens, and used to make a fortune. Plus you could try ironing, we used to pay 75p per item! You could try putting ads through people's doors (I always responded to these) or you could try ads in the local shops. I can write small websites if you'd like me to knock you a free one page website let me know. Since my company went insolvent I have a fair bit more free time at the moment.0

Anti-depressants I can recommend. I've seen what sedatives can do to people - try to avoid them if you can.
Of course, I am not a doctor, so follow the advice of your own GP.
Sedatives will not enable you to carry on as normal, as the name suggests, they will sedate! Anti depressants if managed correctly will enable as near a normal life as possibl and may be your saviour.0 -
Hello everyone and many thanks for your replies!!
At the moment I'm not feeling hopeful or confident at anything and am on "robot mode" at the moment.
I know deep down things will turn out well in the future and must keep myself busy to get from day to day until I feel more confident in life.
I'm sat here right now looking and applying for jobs as if I get a job, it will take my mind of other things !!
Thankyou Dalip for your words of advice. At times like this, you feel as if you're the only one going thru a "poo" time:(
To charliedavis, I have never worked for myself but, your idea sounds brilliant. I know with the recession that people are not hiring as much as they used to but, there's still always a niche out there!!!
