Question about leaving a 3 contract

Options
Hi,

I recently swapped over the ownership of a 3 contract from a friend to myself and took over the bill paying duties. I'm wondering if the 14-day distance selling cool off period still applies to somebody whom the contract has been swapped to and not only when the contract is taken out as all dealings were done over the phone. If so, this would be 100% helpful as the reception is terrible in my area. Any thoughts?

Cheers

    I'm almost sure it doesn't.
If it did it would be a great loophole to 'got out' of a contact. The networks don't leave loopholes...
  • These were my thoughts but recently a friend went through the same situation and when phoning 3 customer services they said she was 4 days late for the cool off period otherwise she could have invoked it. But I don't want to go through all the hassle of switching the contract over if it doesn't work.

The cooling off period is from the start of the contract, you're taking over the contract part way through which isn't the same as starting it again. So you don't get a new cooling off period...
