    Hi.

I was very interested to read that you work for DWP and also your comments on the online test. I have actually just completed this test where you have to answer 36 questions in 75 mins. Some of the questions, as you can imagine, were quite tricky.

Although I am very pleasantly surprised to see that at least SOME Civil Service recruitment is going on again amid the recruitment freeze, I have to admit that I found this test to be pretty tough going, and so can only keep my fingers crossed that I have scored the requiste mark to merit an interview.

Tell me, is this test the norm for AA posts too, because it seems to me that a lot of the questions asked were geared towards EO/HEO grades?

I already work for the DWP as a HEO everthing takes time. If you haven't heard within 3 weeks of the testing it is highly likely that you did not pass. They are petty quick letting successful applicants know via a phone call.

As for the testing the situational questions are very relevant to the positions and test the required calibre required of applicants. The DWP is not an easy job and we face huge challenges on a daily basis. Especially at HEO level when you are responsible for the running of the Jobcentre/Contact Centre as well as huge responsibilities for staff and premises. I wish you evey success in the future, it maybe wise to apply for EO then progess within the service internally!

    Regards
