When you say hardware you mean the controller wasnt part of the console bundle eg the controller was an extra, surely you can get it replaced, how long have you had the ps3

2012 Wins - Danepak Fridge Magnet, £20 Just Eat Voucher, iTunes Song Download, Yellow Toaster and Kettle, Thorntons Bunny, 6 Months Gym Membership, £250 Multipower Products, 3 X Dalepak Vouchers, 10 minute sunbed session, Lucozade Sport, 2 X BMI Flights, Android Zeemote,
  • They want a new PS3 to replace a perfectly functioning one because the controller which is seperate broke.

You're entitled to a new controller at most and depending on age maybe not even that.

What about when Sony asks to inspect the PS3 for damage? Just go to GAME or GameStation and pick one up.

If the item is relatively new and the right to reject remains, the fact that the controller is faulty entitles the OP to reject the entire package and obtain a refund.

That said, not sure why OP wants a new PS3 if there is no issue with the console itself

They will ask you to take the controller to a sony store to be sent out for a warranty repair, but if there are signs of more than average wear they will not repair it.

Best to look out for a controller deal, They can be picked up as low as £14.99 at some places or even £10 pre-owned.

Probably trying to get two PS3 consoles then sell one of them, Pretty dishonest if thats the case.

They would request the old PS3 anyways before sending out a new one.

    I agree with sporedude
