My Check your file says this:

    Financial Risk

By using public databases such as the Register of Court Judgments and insolvency records, and combining it with census data and ‘lifestyle’ information collected from questionnaires, the financial risk of a postcode can be measured.
helen-happy.gif Based on information held on the Cameo database, the average credit score for this postcode, within a range of 0-1000, and where the average is 750, is:
    997
This score can then be converted to an average credit rating for the postcode, within a range of 1-5 stars, and where the average is 3 stars, which gives a result of:
    blue-star.gifblue-star.gifblue-star.gifblue-star.gifblue-star.gif
This affects your own credit score if either your credit file is ‘thin’ or if the lender you are using is small, new-to-market or not able to see full credit files. You can check your own personal credit score and compare it to your postcode based score for free by clicking here.

I just put my postcode into checkmyfile, and if people are being judged on what Cameo are saying about their area, then I feel very sorry for them! Not one of their sections had acurate information for my area, so not sure where they are getting their details from! I know every property and resident in my area, as rural and sparsely housed.

According to Cameo the Housing Type is Semi-detached, terraced or flats !!!
Err no, they are all detached with at least an acre of countryside around each one!

According to Cameo the House Size is Below average sized dwellings
Err no, they are all mainly former farm houses or cottages, with most 4/5 beds and the smallest a 3 bed, and even then it is twice the size of an average 3 bed new build.

If you read the associated info (or even click about) then you'll see that the data is provided by councils and the owners who partake in questionaires etc - you aren't telling me that everyone who does one of these is 100% honest? I done the one on plane back from Cuba and said salary was £100k + and lived in a castle.... LOL

    For a joke!

Ignore cameo - it is Acorn as my links sugggested.....

Anyway, I posted the links where the data comes from, Acorn, and to be honest the data is usually quite accurate so I think you ought to email them and let them know it it is so wrong - you'll find they want to come and see for themselves to verify!

Acorn are a very very solvent company :D

No mate always better if you do in person cos they know for a fact you exist! Also, you usually have to provide ID there and then so they can verify that it is indeed you.

Face to face applications never generate cifas because the proof is in front of them!

You get higher chance of acceptance applying in person. Same as at the bank.

Ever been approached at the airpost for a card? I was and filled form in and got card (in the old days) - at same time I applied for one online with diff compant to get told no and my credit was fine with a bank account and 2 cards.
