    Hello

Just a quick question. My mum phoned up STW and asked for the single occupancy rate and she was told that she can't have it because she is able to have a meter, she doesn't want a meter. Is this true? I don't trust what Severn Trent Water say half the time as I myself have had different information from them about things.

Why would she not want a meter ?

The single assessed tariff is only for people who are unable to have a meter fitted.
As if you could have a meter then you would be paying for the water you use IE One persons amount.
Assessed tariffs historically were not based on single people more on an overall bill amount for a like for like property with a meter.
So a hundred flats for example would give you the average and that is what would be used.
