Ive been looking at this site for a while now, but thought it was about time i vented my anger...
Have any other sellers noticed that buyers are now giving negative feedback for any old reason? I used to have 100% feedback, and now i have loads of negative and neutral feedbacks because...
the buyer bought the item and then realised they didnt really need it
the buyer bought the item and didnt think it was that much fun
the item arrived damaged, full refund immediately, and kept the item, but still not good enough
'my daughter bought this on my ebay and we dont actually want it' so i will leave you negative for giving me a strike
the buyer brought brand new item, used it for 2 weeks, and sent it back saying it had been used!!
And my list could go on. Has anyone else had this?? Im seriously considering giving up ebay, and even if i dont, i probably will never sell anything because of my awful feedback rating!
AHHHHH!!

Luckily (touch wood) mine is still 100% positive. If they are non paying bidder and you strike them i'm pretty sure you can have the negative removed.0

That right, you can use the feedback removal form and use the reason "that you used the dispute service" which you would have used to give the strike.0 -
feedback shmeedback...
The sooner that peopel start to realise that it does not mayter in the grand scheme of things the better.
Feedback does not pay bills,
100% buyer feedback means nothing.
Any seller that is relying on good feedback scores to ensure a discount do not have the right business model/pricing attititude.
It's completely subjective, and we all knwo that there are some people in this world who like nothing better than a good whinge.
And it's voluntary.

fair enough, but when feedback means whether i will sell items or not (using the money to put food on the table etc- i have a family to support and everyones struggling at the moment!!) then it is quite a big deal. And i dont understand what your saying about discount- discount on what?! madness
I think your post was a bit rude0 -

Sorry but nope, if the full dispute has been closed without the buyer responding then feedback cannot be left. if however the buyer does respond then the feedback stands except in certain circumstances.
As for this large increase in negs, I had feared it would happen but actually my one and only neg was from before the changes and that has now disappeared as it was over a year ago, and I've had none since.
Feedback discounts- power sellers can get discounts if they maintain a high feedback and good stars so are therefore able to be blackmailed by dodgy buyers. Even so apart from a few notable exceptions this has not exactly been a regular occurance.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. My point is that I sell on eBay to make money. I do not do it to earn feedback, I do not do it to feed the ego's of buyers who think their 100% feedback means anything. I accept that I can not please all of the people all of the time and at some stage each year I'm going to run into a numpty - just as I would in every day life.
The discount I refer to is the 20%+ that is deducted from final value fees is your feedback & star ratings are above a certain level - if somebody is relying on those to make money, then there is something wrong with how they operate - business sellers in the main though.
Feedback is a quirk of eBay, and means nothing in the real world. I can't tell my boss at work that I have 40,000 positives to my name, I deserve a pay-rise, or the guy sat next to me has a negative feedback, therefore he is not a good as person as I am.
We often see threads on here where people have been ripped off by a dodgy seller - but they did not check feedback beforehand, and on the opposite note, we hear of people who are ripped off by people with 100% feedback.
The postage debate is another one. I'm happy to look at the overall price I pay, but many people will get the negging finger ready if they are charged as little as 10p over stamp price.
Some people are happy to get their items within a week or 10 days, some people start sending messages the morning after purchase if their item has not arrived.
Some people leave negs for fun, and some people respond to theior negs with a calm and factual reply that can turn the preception of the situation around completely in the eyes of future buyers.
Some people think that feedback should be compulsary, and should only be displayed when both parties have left their comments.
Some people could not give a donald duck about the whole thing.
Some people are blunt - others are rude! Subtle difference

Yeah, but this is the EBAY thread, so surely this is the right place to talk about it??
Anyway you never even mentioned the point that i was asking about so im not sure why you even answered my post.
Anyway, it doesnt matter, this is the first time ive ever written on here, i dont want to get rubbish on my first day!!

Please feel free to discuss anything you like about ebay and paypal, that is what this board is here for. There are a wide variation of views, that is what debate is about. You'll find by the vey nature of the board that most threads here will have a fairly negative ebay /paypal slant as people tend not to post when eveything goes right, only when it all goes wrong.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. What annoys me also is when people complain about the postage being like 20p over from what they paid. Postage and Packing takes into account what it says, the envelope, and other packing costs, then the actual postage cost. I try to be as accurate as possible, but without a Royal Mail machine, sometimes I get it wrong. I have never complained about postage when I have bought an item. You see the postage costs when you bid for an item, so you know what you are going to be charged. Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0

i had a peek at someones feedback earlier today on playtrade who had an 82% rating.
although most of the negatives were in response to them selling free dvds from the daily mail (serves him right), the one that caught my attention was this:
"just didn't enjoy the film"
harsh !:grouphug:
no wonder he has a smile on his face...0
