My daughter bought small boxes and decorated them herself, as the wedding in by the seaside she had rock made with the bride and grooms names put through it and then added a sweet size piece to each box with a badge ( I think) from the cats protection league as they made a donation to them and felt the money went to a better use rather than something often eaten or left discarded at the end of the day.

Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.

we had some free mini perfumes and some free mini whisky's by writing to loads of companies

we then had bars of organic choc with ribbon with people names on little tags attached which were used as place names and worked out cheaper than most place name cards we saw.

we also had little boxes which we filled with mint imperials (about 40p for a value bag from asda) and we used about 5 bags mints.

we had about 60 guests and wanted a few bits as people had travelled a long way.

Any idea where she got this rock from as I would like to do this but all the sweets are a minimum order of about 500 - I only want about 100.

I went to a wedding over Easter weekend. After the ceremony we headed to the dining room, we were told by the staff what tables we were to go to, when we got to our table, instead of place names there were square glass coasters, with a small picture in the middle of each guest placed where they were to sit.
Every single guest had a picture at their place, most were funny/embarrassing pictures, it made a really good conversation opener as we didnt know everyone sat on our table and we all had a laugh at everyones photos. Most pictures were got from friends/family and an awful lot of the funnier ones were off Facebook.
We all got to take ours home, mine and my OH are on our table, I think it was a really original brilliant idea.
