You should be able to claim Income support as a single parent, child benefit, child tax credits, housing benefit (LHA) and council tax.

You need to inform Tax credits becasue of the change in circumstances now to avoid an overpayment.

You get to keep the first £20 from child support.

Income support you phone the jobcentre, tax credits again can be done over the phone or online as for housing benefit and council tax benefit i suspect you will have to go into your local authority office and get the forms to fill in.

If you claim over the phone they offer to send you the relevent forms if you may be entitled to HB or CTB.

You can then fill it in and either drop it in yourself or post it to them.

Alternatively, you can hand it in when you go for your appt at JCP but do ring the council and check they got it!
