I want to study but cant afford to can i get financial help

i would like to study business and engineering but i cant afford to i only work part time and earn about £4000 a year,i dont want to get in debt so i wont get a loan can i get any financial help off the goverment.

    No, I don't think so, that is what the slc is for. Alternatively, consider the OU- you would get some assistance for that.

    I too recommend the OU but financial help is based on household rather than individual income.

    The OP should look at the conditions for paying back a student loan; surely earning £20,000 and paying back £40 per month (just as an example) must be better than only earning £4,000?

    Yes you can get government help to study full time it is called a student loan. If there was a way round it we would all be doing it.

    Even of you get help don't underestimate the costs of re-entering education and make sure it is really what you want to do. One of the reasons I pulled out 18 months ago was because I could see the recession looming and needed to manage my business interests. My reason for rtning was more as a hobby than to further my career. It turned out to be the most expensive mistake I have ever made.
