Good luck with the sale. Just think of the new one you can save up for once you're DF and all those hours you can spend re4searching the one to get and the test drives you can do......

Hi Angelicmary85 - I know exactly how your feel!! I sold my first car last year, which I had from brand new and it broke my heart!! To make matters worse it was a relative of my OH who bought it and the little **** has written it off!! I was gutted, and actually wish I had sold it at auction miles away so I didn't know what happened to it, when you look after something for so long and then someone destroys it, it kinda makes you angry!!

I would think long and hard about selling anything with sentimental value ever again, I knew the day he picked the car up I was totally unhappy about it but I thought I'd gone too far to pull out when he turned up with the money.... I wish I had trusted my instinct and kept her!! :(

The little B*****D!! I'd never be able to look at them again, poor wee car! I had mine for about 2years (I got it at a year old) and when I see this guy wheel-spinning i or driving around the corner on 2-wheels I want to go and shout at him! Like you, I'd much rather it'd gone somewhere else and I wouldn't know what came of it!

I take it you're not in a DMP or anything then and still making the minimum payments?

Otherwise you could have possibly made a reduced F&F settlement offer and got rid of possibly more than one debt.

I think you're doing the right thing though. It's a luxury you can't afford right now and are better off getting the money.

Oh no - I make more than minimum payments etc, but the cash woule pay off one of my credit cards

The only thing I worry about with cash sales is the chance of getting dodgy bank notes...

How about asking for a banker's draft instead? It'll cost the buyer a few pounds though!

Might we worth investing in one of those pens that tells you that the cash is real.

Also make sure they bring something with them that proves where they live, a drivers license or some thing so you can copy the address for peace of mind.

Don't listen to these people - they forced me to sell my beautiful Mini and I regret it every day. :(

Okay - perhaps they didn't force me - but I do still regret it and it was 15 months ago now. The problem is - I can't afford to get another now, as the money went straight off my debts. I thought that would be a good feeling but actually I've still got debts, but now no Mini to take my mind off them.
