Lloyds Tsb Current Account

I read a thread by a Lloyds TSB staff member, it said the risk banding is on account through flow only!.

What does that mean exactly?

How much cash needs to go through for gold, premier, platinum etc for you to be accepted.

I'd imagine that sort of information isn't handed out easily, since it would make it easier to game the system.

I'm on Silver, fund it with £1200 a month, spend £700 of it, so balance increases by £500 each month. Never had a bounced payment.

Will they upgrade me to Gold? Will they hell!

...so long as I was williing to pay the associated fee.

I get 3k per month spent £2200-2400 leave £600 min a month at times my balance on payday has been £5k.

When i first applied they said I have no history(returned from spain) it wouldnt matter if i was on 5k a week I could only have a cash account!. 9mths later after realising they taking the rip, i closed my account. Went back the next day and they could open me a silver account which i have had now for 8mths!.

I wait 6mths then go in the week after the 19th of the month and ask about upgrade they always decline.

Now my mate went in as a totally new customer he was told silver too, not happy about that he declined that and said he wanted a gold account.

Now he applied initally with a man the man went through to an underwriter they said no silver only, he was seen by a woman the next day the underwriter said gold no problem!, but the women just sent him the standard olympic card, he rang back the branch they said yes you can have a 3-1 debit card gold with no borrowing.

Which is all i have ever wanted!, why is it so difficult, I am self employed and get paid cash.

I have been told it matters not credit rating, if self employed or not just money through put.

Is there Any Lloyds TSB advisers who use this site or ex employees please help me at my wits end with Lloyds

I have the Classic current account with Lloyds. They keep pestering me to upgrade to Gold (have more or less 2k a month paid in) which I wont as I dont want to pay a fee for an account where I wont benefit from the "extras"

Get a copy of your credit files - Get yourself on electoral roll - make sure you have more money going in rather than out.

If the credit report shows nothing untoward and they won't upgrade move on to another bank - most will have similar accounts.

Got told last night by someone at PhoneBank that it all depends on your external credit rating, and nothing more (which i am dubious about) - then tried selling me Privacy Guard which I declined.

I too have the classic account ,I do not want to pay a fee for an upgraded account !

I am constantly told in Branch that i should upgrade but why would i want to when i have a fee free account?
