Moneygrabber in particular, I think you really do need a refresher on how good lasting business works :p ... and you sporedude

You both seem to be labouring under the misunderstanding that a business that subcontracts part of its own contracted service (like the execution of a successful delivery of a new phone) can simply wash its hands of that part - why do you propound such a dismal attitude to performance and service? Or that a business that carries out an instruction out of context with the overall scheme of things (customer satisfaction) cannot be criticised. I am of course talking about blocking the wrong SIM which was crass.

I can only surmise that at some stage you've perhaps had experience of working in a business where the boss has ingrained that promises cost money that can't be afforded (so avoid them), and that you've then swallowed it hook, line and sinker as good practice? Do you in fact work in a business that routinely grabs money and runs by any chance? :p

Go get 'em nads :D ... those of us with half a notion of which way is up are well behind you :money:
  • Yeah, rooting for you NADS. Your contract is with O2 - How they get the phone to you is up to them, but anything goes wrong it is O2 who have to sort it out.

I haven't read all of this thread and will probably get flamed for this, but suppose they sent it by carrier pigeon - If it got lost is it the pigeons fault? No. It is O2's for using a crap method of delivery.

Just wondered, cos you're so busy an that, how are you going to anage to find time to picket all those O2 shops?

Ignoring the fact that I never said I was busy - jsut that I needed access to email - With a bit of planning I can manage to make a poster and make my way to a location and stand outside.

Surely with your 'logic' if your car broke down it wouldn't be RAC's responsibility, but that of Fords/BMW's/Vauxhall's (or whoever makes your car).

As for the delivery, if DHL have managed to deliver it to the wrong address, then that is DHL's fault, not o2's. If I post something to an ebay buyer and Roayl Mail lose it, it's not my fault.

Think you are directing your anger at the wrong people here.

You seem to have missed the point. I made an agreement with RAC if my car breaksdown it's their responsibility to come and fix it - no "ifs" or "buts". No excuses.

I'm so glad to see Procrastinator and Peter are totally understanding exactly where I am coming from. Some folks seemed to have missed the point of meeting customer expectations and provided the service you are paying for.

It appears some of you are content to put up with shoddy service and feel criticising its actions are not worth much. If you have a £2000 debt do you think the company that you owed the money to would say "Ah well that's fine, oh well whenever you can pay it mate"?. O2 should have delivered that phone yesterday clearly they did not meet their expectations or mine. It's upto them to deal with DHL and for DHL to deal with the repercussions of their actions.

    Official Company Representative
I am an official company representative of O2. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com"

Hmmmm maybe I was just voicing my own opinion? Why should it be O2's problem if DHL lose something they are delivering? Its like buying something from Ebay then blaming the sender because it got lost in the post, Not the senders fault. ( Noticed someones already compared it to this)
  • Wow, i just came to check how everyone was doing and theres 4 new threads complaining about o2.
I've never seen anything like it before :O

Anyway nads your situation is pretty.. ****ed up :|.
Keep us updated and good luck

    You missing the point completely.

Lets choose another retailer as eBay is a different setup to most. Say Amazon posted an item to you, it was £397 and it was delivered - somewhere.

You never received it but the Amazon computer system says it was delivered and nothing can be done. Are you going to ring up Royal Mail? Fine, you might do but they can only do so much. Now what? Oh well, it didn't arrive and Amazon sent the item so it's not the senders fault.

You're out of pocket £397. Are you happy with that or would you do anything else? If you're going to do anything else at this point, you're going to be doing what I am currently doing - minus the urgency and the frustration and the additional monthly fee you pay for service.

Thanks Pot. I didn't realise there were others. I think I've been with O2 for 9 years now (payg and contract) - I was the first person I knew to have a Genie sim, remember them? :D

I don't complain normally, in fact I think this is the second time in my whole life I have made a "proper" complaint ever. I do prefer to praise - credit where credits due kinda thing.
