£100 from Nationwide for the first 1000 customers to switch online

Just logged onto my Nationwide account and noticed this special offer that started today. So have given details to switch a couple of old DD's on another current account. Looks like a great offer if you can be one of the first 1000 applicants.

'We are proud to announce the launch of a brand new service for our Internet Banking customers.

Our new online Account Transfer service enables you to quickly and easily switch your direct debits and standing orders from a current account with another bank or building society to your FlexAccount by completing one simple form online. There is no need for paper or postage as your details are instantly sent to our Account Transfer team to start arranging your transfer. We really have made it a breeze!

To celebrate the launch of this new service we are offering £100 to the first 1,000 customers to switch online (terms and conditions apply).'

The FlexAccount Internet Bank Switcher Offer is subject to the following terms and conditions:

2. This offer is open to FlexAccount customers that hold or are eligible for a debit cards on the FlexAccount and are registered with the Internet Bank ("qualifying customers"). It is not available on Cash Card Accounts or FlexAccounts with a chequebook and cash card or cheque guarantee card.

3. This offer is not available to customers with a FlexAccount or any other Nationwide product that is in collections or arrears.

4. To qualify, you must sign on to the Nationwide Internet Bank complete and submit an "Authorisation for a Current Account Transfer" form within the Internet Bank, transferring Direct Debits or standing orders from a non-Nationwide account to either a new or an existing FlexAccount which qualifies in accordance with clause 2 above;

5. Joint account holders can transfer from an existing joint account into the same names or from a sole account into either name.

6. For the first 1,000 qualifying customers to switch their account during the qualifying period, a payment of £100 will be credited into their FlexAccount between 1 and 31 July 2009. No alternative is available.

7. This offer may be used in conjunction with other Nationwide offers but only one payment of £100 will be made per qualifying customer and FlexAccount (including joint accounts).

Reckon you could scoop the £100 even if you have previously got the £75?

don't see why not, nothing in the terms says you can't. when do people think the offer will reach 1000?

Yes, it says that it can be used in conjunction with other offers, luckily after the 75.00 switch I set up a couple of direct debits with the other Bank again. :rotfl:

I don't already have a Flex a/c. How do I open one via the Internet Bank without already having acc details to log on - is it possible?

If I just apply online and say yes to switching by completeing existing a/c details I'm assuming that I won't qualify for the £100 bonus as I won't have logged on to submit an "Authorisation for a Current Account Transfer" form within the Internet Bank

It looks to take 3-5 days to get online registration details sent out and I'm sure that the first 1000 will have been reached before then.

If there's anyone who's done the switch already - can you choose which SOs/DDs you transfer or does it just grab all of them?

There is two options, Transfer all payments and let me see a list, the second option would let you choose which you would like to transfer, if that exercise is done by post it may delay the transfer compared with someone who goes for the transfer all payments option.

Was same in January when they did the 75.00 offer, on that occasion they struggled ( took several weeks) to get 4000 applications. ( let alone 4000 that may have turned out to be eligible) My opinion is that the majority of Nationwide customers will already have their payments in one place. I believe Nationwide will withdraw the advertising of the 100.00 offer once they believe that the level of 1000 has been achieved. ( or close to being achieved) In theory they could have had 10000 applications at the same time yesterday with 5000 switchins completed at the same time.
