Prices for flights and holidays do go up & down, it's all about supply and demand.
Maybe the flights will come down again.
Can you get your passport renewed within the month?
Are BA & Easyjet the only airlines that fly to where you want to go?0 -
Hello Melie,
I bet someone can help (i.e. getting to you see if you can fly bmi), and checking their prices?
If you post the following:
Why can you not fly easyjet, but can BA? Explain the passport thing, someone might have a workaround, or you may have incorrect information.
What dates is this for, someone might work out how to get a cheapie?
Does it have to be LGW , or is Heathrow, City, Stansted, Luton, Southampton or Bournemouth viable options? (I'm not saying all are possible, but...).
I'm guessing you are South Coast, so not willing to take the train?
Any reason why Glasgow?
Provide all info, and I bet you get some good help!0 -
One bit of pedantry your flights have not doubled or anywhere near they have gone up 43%.
Ok now thats out the way looking at easyjets T&C they state:
"The airline requires all passengers to provide photographic ID at check-in on all flights including domestic services. Passengers who use the online check-in service will be required to provide photographic ID at the security gate and again at the boarding gate.
Please note: Passengers, other than British or Irish nationals, travelling between the UK and the Republic of Ireland, are required to produce a valid passport and any associated relevant travel documentation"
In other words if you are british then you dont need a passport just a form of photo id therefore if you have a photo driving licence etc then you will be ok:

Try deleting your cookies on your computer and then search again. I've done this before on a lot of websites and it's come back with the original price quote.0

Hi,
You could look at flybe.com ... they go from Southampton, which is easy to get to by car/train.
Also, have you thought about booking individual tickets ... you might find you get the last one at a certain price, then the next one at the higher price?

easyJet accepts alternative forms of ID, not just passports. If it's anything other than a driving licence/EEA national ID card you can ring them up for a definitive answer. I've flown before on just a student card, though I believe they've got stricter since then.
Alternatively, if you can get to Heathrow you can use bmi, which has the same rules as BA. And there's always the train (look into the sleeper train too if you want to save time).0 -

i rang easyjet yesterday. they would only accept me if my passport had expired less than2 yrs ago, passport expired 3yrs in july grrrrr. i dont have a photo drivers licence, only paper one grrrr, this takes more than 3 weeks to get. not sure how long a passport takes, but i guess its gonna cost alot. i can fly from any london airport. im from essex, willing to travel, but most airports are flying the lo cost airlines who i think all want in date photo id. dunno why BA dont???? why is that?? does anyone now. my date is either 8th may evening, or 9th may morning flight, returning on 10th. we are going up to see a show, which is in glasgow central, not sure how far the prestwick airport is, as glasgow international is 8 miles away so not far for so to either get a bus or taxi. would like to get a deal on hotel too, lots of sites doing that, not sure if its such a good deal?? otherwise it will be premier inn anyways.
hope someone can help, would be lovely, im wrecked and really wishing id just booked it now....0 -
