Worth ditching Vista for XP ???

Just purchased a HP Touchsmart Touchscreen all in one PC with Vista installed.
I remember hearing a lot about ditching Vista and having XP installed, but that was when Vista first came out. Apart from having to get used to the differences between the two, are there still any valid reasons for replacing Vista with XP on a new machine.
It has 4GB of RAM installed.
Thanks

I picked up a new machine with Vista a couple of weeks ago, and have to say that now I've ironed out the creases a little and have things set up how I want them, I'm not really missing XP at all.Where there's a will, there's a way to get something cheaper from somewhere else!!

Edit.
Doesn't matter. You'll potentially lose a significant amount of functionality you've paid a premium for by downgrading to Windows XP. HP do not support it, so you're highly likely to run into problems getting drivers for the hardware.0 -
Hes right, vista's main issue over xp is the huge bundles of software that comes with it and all of the command prompts etc, once you turn of User account control (UAC) many problems and prompts disappear i found, and as long as you have a decent virus and adware protection bundle of software then you will be safe!
after that vista just has a far better GUI.
But im afraid your upgrade was bad timing, Windows 7 is not too far off and the beta builds are looking promising, much faster startup, very clean look, little software pre bundled etc. Should be out in a year or so they say so you lost out there, would of been better to hang on in my opinion.

What huge bundles of software?
Advising to disable UAC is terrible advice. You don't see advice to run Linux constantly in Root, so why do the same in Windows?0 -
After slaughtering Vista since it's appearance, I'm starting to see a bonus, I think.
It may be better at stopping those dammable "route kit" virus/spyware which seems to have gone into overdrive in the last 6 months. XP seems to be extremely falible to these things, especially with children about.0 -

I have been using Vista for a few weeks now and it's ok, just takes a wee while to get used to. Why not try it for a month and see how you feel after that.xxxdxxx

Any reason in particular you purchased a computer that came with Vista if you don't want to use it?
I'm not trying to be a smartass; it seems a reasonable question.0 -

Didn`t say i didn`t want to use it, just wanted to know if there were any reason to consider changing it.
Plus the fact that most computers come with Vista which limits the choice anyway.0 -
