Free anti-virus

I'm currently using AVG free anti virus, but for some reason I dont think its working properly. Does anyone know of another free anti virus softwear that I can download. Thank you. :-*

    What makes you think it isn't working properly? AVG is the best free antivirus, I have used it for years now with no problems.

    There was a HUGE download today.
    Used AVG for years too. :)
    You could try downloading it again, maybe the one you have has got corrupted somewhere along the line.

    I was going to recommend avast. It has a much better interface than AVG.. I used AVG for a bit but went back to avast because I prefer it. Their virus database is usually very up to date too.. maybe not quite as good as AVG but it does the trick..

    I used AVG for years but I recently upgraded and bought Norton (on sale for £20!). AVG finds the viruses every time - but it isn't always 100% effective at getting rid of them. I put it onto my dad's machine and he was hit by 3 consecutive worms - AVG was useless against them...whereas Norton sorted the problem in under 10 minutes from install.

    Its worth shopping around for cheap copies of Norton - its the kind of thing that always ends up in a bargain bucket at Asda or PC World.
