I put around £25 a week in mine, upto even £30 when we have really cold weather.
Saying that though, I can get away with £5 a week in the summer so I suppose it evens itself out really.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Find out if there is any debt on your meter that you are paying for. It may just be the time of year it is when you use most of your gas.0

I put £10 in my gas token metre and it used £5 in two days, had a letter from British gas and they are coming round to reset the electric metre to a higher rate!
If it goes on like this I won’t be able to afford any gas or electric, I use the gas for cooking and heating the house for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.
British gas doesn’t even respond to my emails asking them questions, I also paid my debt off over three years ago.
After I paid my debt off I should get the same rate as someone with a normal metre as I don’t owe any debts to them.
They are allowed to make me suffer and pay higher rate for gas just because the company I worked for went bankrupt and I couldn’t pay the gas bill went it came.I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
If you paid off your balance, ask for the metre (sic) to be removed & a standard credit meter installed. If they won't change to a supplier that will!
To the OP, your usage is consistent with this time of the year I'm afraid0 -
ohhhh well neve mind , just seemed alot , meter was in when we bought the house , we have never bothered to have it changed0

I put around £10 per weke on average on the meter (2bed house w/gas central haeting/fires/cooker) and usually that lasts , in bad weather sometimes goes up to around £15-£20 per week, but during the summer it goes down to around £5-6 per week.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0

I could be wrong but if you have a prepay meter isn't this more expensive than if you simply paid by direct debit??0 -
I have a prepayment meter for gas and electricity,My electricity is approx £15.00 a week ,but my gas is approx £35.00 a week but only just started using more money so the increase in gas charges are really hitting hard,I am with seeboard for elec and british gas for gas,No outstanding bills.Lucky No27
