I get mine regassed every 2 years, but I dont have the system serviced.

so what else is left to service on the system then other than a pollen filter?
why every 2 years? do you have a leak?
my focus still has ice cold air con after over 5 years and i admit that i hardly ever use it. i did use it for the first time this year at the weekend and it was still ice cold.

The VAG group recommend every 2 years and I have stuck to schedule. Different manufacturers state different times.

I know lots of people who have the same car as me and have never had an air con top up, I just like keeping my car tip top, no expense spared.

Pollen filter is part of general service on my car, so gets done every 10,000 miles.

I'm unsure what in a full aircon service, but I would think seals and lubricating. I think only due when some thing goes wrong, so not preventative servicing.

Someone with some common sense - and I never thought I would be saying that about you Goldie!

What is there to service???? You do the service yourself by running it regularly - as mentioned before. And making sure the whole car is serviced well and pollen filter is changed when it should/needs to be.

I pay £90, but it comes with an bacteria flush, reason being so much more expensive.

Your local kwik fit IIRC do it for £40, but that is just a regass and leak test.

You will be amazed at the difference, as long as you havent got any leaks in the pipework.

You can buy a bacteria-death-bomb from Halfords for a tiny fraction of that price. No need to pay someone for a service you can do yourself in 10 minutes.

I have tried the halfords ones and they only last a few weeks, before the smell is back.

As above I dont mind spending on my car as its my pride and joy. I would rather have a proper job done at the specialist, rather than tackeling something myself I dont feel comfortable with.

    Each to there own.

I also have the aircon on all year round, so my system works full time all the time.

So assuming 10000miles per annum at 30mpg at £5/gallon, and also assuming a minimum loss off 5% fuel consumption means it costs over £200 per year to run?????.

I'll take the dosh and my shirt off;););)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I hardly see a differnce at all, running my aircon all the time. Maybe because since Ive had this car Ive never turned it of, so Im none the wiser. Im getting around 37mpg daily to. :)
