    Hello everyone

Please take pity on a complete simpleton Mum (me). My DS (11) has begged and begged me for Xbox Live and I keep saying no. Why? Because I don't know how to do it. I've tried a couple of times and got quite far (getting a windows live name and stuff) but then I just fail, fail, fail. Anyone know where I can rent-a-teenager?:o

From what I understand all you need to do is get a windows live ID. Basically setup a hotmail account and you have one. Then use you e-mail and password on the xbox.

    Hope this makes sense.

yeah just need a hotmail account and then you use this to log in.

What parts are you failing on fletch3163? is the xbox 360 all connected to the internet ok? if so you can check the by going to settings and then network settings (i think this is right cant remember without it in front of me) you should beable to run a status check there. also have a look at power sellers on ebay who do the subscription codes. they are cheaper and email you the code. But first main thing is get online as you get a month free to start.

I can't do it! I've plugged in the laptop to the XBox and it cant' find my IP address (whatever that is). The Laptop is not the main computer but I don't think I could make it stretch. Would that help.

Can anyone tell me how I could get the IP address easily?

Thanks for your responses by the way, I appreciate it.

Hi Percy, thanks for this. It is wireless yes. THIS is my desktop computer I'm on and we've got a D-Link nonsense that allows the laptop to work. I tell you, am driven MENTAL with it. Everyone thinks it's easy (except me). I'll be some kind of hero mum if I can do it

USB? I know I should know what this is but I don't. Should I try to stretch the cables to the main computer and plug it in that way. My only worry with that is I'd need to disable the computer every time the XBox is on
