Dublin hotels

My husband and I will be going over to Dublin (after summer) for a concert and plan on staying a few days (3 nights) to wonder around the city so some advice on some places to stay? We aren't picky but do not wish to stay at hostels. Any deals floating around.

Do you want to stay city center? If you give me an idea of how much you want to spend per room per night I'll do a search for you as I would know the better areas to stay in.

Well, I did find this place and it seems ok but as I don't know if it's a good area...you probably know better ;)

Budjet is no more than €220 for the stay!

Jurys Inns are OK, not fantastic but clean and fairly consistent. Usually if you book far ahead in advance they are €59 per night. The one on Parnell Street is fairly modern and is decent overall. It is a 5 minute walk from O Connell Street, and about 20-25 mins from Temple Bar.

Don't pay extra for the breakfast though as it is rubbish :)

Make sure you get a 3 day Dublin Bus pass - it includes your transportation to and from the airport and is a great bargain. If you're flying in to Dublin, you can buy them at the Dublin Bus ticket counter just before you get out of the terminal.
  • Try 'The Arlington', its a lovely hotel looking onto the Liffey and off O'Connell Street. The outside of this hotel doesn't give it any justice. We spend Valentine's weekend there and had a great time.

I stayed in The Burlington a few weeks ago and it was lovely. 10-15min walk from Grafton St, 15Euro taxi ride from Temple Bar on a Sat night (well Sun morning really!)

Avoid the Morgan at all costs.

We changed hotel rooms four times because the rooms were unclean - lipstick marks on the water glasses, used sheets, dodgy marks on the carpet, sticky fluids on the side tables and parts of the bathroom.

In the last room, I was just too tired from shifting all the stuff about and made them remake the bed in front of me with fresh linen before cleaning the bathroom myself.

It was seriously disgusting for a 4* hotel

Have been lucky enough to stay in suites in both The Alexander and Davenport (sister) hotels - centrally located but just far away enough to be quieter, complete luxury but not cheap. Worth it for a special occasion.
