Well done Hypno! I did a 5 mile race today in 48 mins, now thinking of doing a 10k soon.

And sympathies with the housework. My house is a total tip, I would die if a friend with a tidiness OCD came round. I'd have to hide behind the curtains and pretend I wasn't in.

That is an excellent time Seaxwyn :T When do you think you will do the 10k?

As for the housework - If I had seen her come to the door, I would have been tempted to hide, but DD was cutting the lawn, and so the back door was open, and DD told her to just come straight in!

Mind you, it was so lovely to see my friend again after so long, so I am glad I did not hide!

It might have done your friend some good to see you all happy in your messy home!

Our local running club has a 10k race on 8 July so I will aim to do that one, but look out for other opportunities meanwhile. One of the downsides about working full-time is that it will be harder to keep up with running - so I need to enter some events to mean that I have to train.

thanks bob - I was quite happy with it given the fact that my legs were punished severely last weekend!

It has given me a bit of confidence to carry on running, so hopefully I will start to improve a bit over the next few months! And maybe, just maybe, I will finally start to lose a little bit of weight!!

Gosh would have thought you were as thin as a rake with all that running. Makes me feel a real like a lazy, lardy, bum.:rotfl:

It IS hard trying to fit the running in around full time work, but with the longer summer evenings, it is a little easier now than it was during the winter.

I find it a very very good way to de-stress after a tough day at work too, although I still only manage to run about 3 times a week, and really should do more than that.

Nope, not lost a single lb from all that training.....and still a good half stone over the upper limit for a healthy BMI - nicely nestled in the middle of the "overweight" section of the chart :o

My BMI is in the obese range as i am not at the right height for my weight...but i had my hair cut last week so that should help.
