    H Hypno,

Well done on the new total, are you on target to pay off your £30k by the end of the year?

    x

Unlikely, sadly - as when I set that target I had not envisaged DD going to China, and us going skiing this year.......

But it should certainly be somewhere between £20k and £25k....with the remainder got rid of fairly soon into the new year (hopefully!!).

20 to 35K is still an amazing amount to pay off in a year whilst you're still having being able to have some experiences to hoot! Well done you! xx
  • That's still quite an achievement in itself to even get rid of as much as you have already. £20k - £25k is a really good figure and I'm sure that you'll get rid of the rest fairly quickly.

    Hi Hypno,

I have been trying to catch up with your diary, but there are lots of chapters. :rotfl:

Just wanted to say that you are an insipration. I dont know how you do it.

Also I hope you dont mind, but I pinched your idea of the £50 grid and started doing it myself. It is really good seeing the money go down as you are colouring the squares.

There is something very satisfying about colouring. :rotfl:

    Take care

Moneyfritter - I love my squares!! I coloured in 6 of them this morning - always a good start to the day :T

I was feeling a bit crap yesterday about not feeling as though I could justify an ice cream.....so I wrote a brief list of the things that we are doing/have done this year on top of the debt busting - all of which have been done out of "extra" money we have earned by living the MSE life.....
    • DS went to Norway with England Schools Ski Squad
    • Me, DD and DS had a week's skiing in France
    • DD is off to China in October
    • We are all off to CenterParcs for a week in August - and spending money is already put to one side
    • Weekend in London with nice meals out/hotel etc for the London Marathon weekend
    • Me, DD and DS going to see Take That on Saturday
    • DS away on a PGL activity holiday this week with the school
Obviously, we all work incredibly hard, and have made lots of sacrifices along the way (renting spare room out, doing second jobs, running one car only, not having Christmas/birthday presents etc), and nothing has been spent on the house on things that could be done, and will have to be done at some point, but it does go to show that with a bit of effort, a lot can be achieved as well as overpaying debt!

So, suddenly I didn't feel so bad about not having an ice-cream yesterday

    Hi Hypno,

I dont know how you fit everything in. I do the matched betting and amazon books. I also do the surveys from time to time and I do some daily clicks.

I was wondering about the mystery shopping. Can you fit it around a full time job. I work 9-5pm. Can you do it in the evenings or is it not possible. Could do with trying to make as much extra cash as possible.

    Thanks in advance

Moneyfritter - Well, I work 8-6 Monday to Friday, with extra to fit in as and when, and I still manage to get a reasonable amount of mystery shopping done. I try and fit them in my lunch-hour or on my way home from work. There are also assignments available that are phone enquiries or e-mail enquiries that you can do in the evenings, and several jobs can be done on the weekends too, so there is plenty of scope to fit them in. Obviously the more time you have, the more you can potentially do, but there is no guarantee ever of having a rush of jobs, so you just take it you find it and pick and choose to suit!

I have had another of those "act before you think" moments, and accepted another student from Sunday......she will have to share with DD, so not ideal but as the money goes to DD's China fund, she is quite happy with that. It is only for a couple of weeks, so it will be a challenge - I am used to having 3 teenagers in the house, never had 4......!

Now.....perhaps I could put a tent up in the garden and have a couple more.......

Well why not - the weather is good enough !!! :rotfl:

Have had a day off of work in lieu of hours owed (budget won;t stretch to paying me!) so have been strawberry picking - they are plentiful and cost me £11 for 5kgs picked in half an hour. They will be made into Jam and conserve to go with scones for our Big Family party in a couple of weeks time.

Am also having hair cut this afternoon before I hack it off myself - can;t see when I'm swimming and its all over the place!.

DD has gone to help at Yr 8 camp along with 3 others that have just finished in the Upper Sixth. Year 13 - what ever you want to call it so is away till Friday.

Have to go and pick DS up from work - he is working in school kitchen today - Full roast for dinner as well !!!

    Have a good afternoon
