Yes, OH is generally on side. I say "generally" because he largely leaves me to it, in order that it gets done, because if it were left to him, we would be in real problems. For example, he sold some bits and pieces, an invoice was raised as requested, and the money never came through. Last night I saw the chap who was arranging payment and gave a gentle "nudge" for the money (£50, so a useful amount) and was told "Oh, I gave him the cash ages ago".........so not only did I feel an idiot for chasing something we had already had, but OH had spent it on "bits and pieces" ie nothing, and so that £50 didn't go on the debt, or anything in the budget etc.
Much as I would like to hand things over to him, it would be dangerous, and would cause me far more stress than doing it myself!
As far as the children go, we have been in this situation for so long that they don't know anything different really. This is "normal" for them, and I have always been open with them about the situation, so they are very understanding. I know that from time to time they get the "not fair" feelings, but we all get those, so it is nothing more than that.

Hypno...are we married to the same person?? My DH is 'onboard' with sorting out money. We have a weekly budget which I take out in cash each week. When it's gone it's gone....supposedly! I do the online banking daily and see little amounts here and there to which he says....oh yes, I just needed x, y and z. Aaaahhhhhhhh!!!! WELL TELL ME SO I CAN ADJUST THE BUDGETS!!! {mudbath goes and lies in a darkened room and breathes deeply!!} :rotfl:xx0

...are we married to the same person??...
Ditto!!!
My OH was made redundant last year, so for more than 1/2 the year anything other than the basics was a definate NO! -- He's now working again (so we can actually pay the bills) and in line for a bonus! - His version of what to do with it is to spend, spend, spend until I point out that we have to put it back into the debt pot, and pay off more than the just the minimums. -- He understands the theory of being Debt Free -- putting it into practice it's another story!!!{mudbath goes and lies in a darkened room and breathes deeply!!} :rotfl:
