well just had a letter from the government/welfare re 8% across the board cut backs...

as rents have fallen in the last year (where ?? ill move ) the maximum amount of rent is being reduced from 1st june
the minimum contribution is to be increased by €6 from €18 to €24 a week..
an 8% reduction is also being applied

so if you only paid 18 towards your rent you now have to pay 24 a week

    existing rent allowance €816.50 ( i pay €383.5 or €95.88pw)
less increase in minimum contribution €26.00??? (already pay more than min???)
    less 8% of balance €65.01
    new payment will be €725.49
so now have to find €91.01 extra a month €22.75 a week

then they have the brass neck to tell you to show the letter to your landlord so he will drop your rent in line with the decrease!!! the same landlord who they just took the tax relief off 2nd morgs from!!!!

That is truely awful. I feel so sorry for your situation Shaun, you must appeal it.

I don't even pretend to understand housing stuff.....so can't offer anything other than the angry smiley  for you shaun.

I've typed up some of the letters I needed to write, but now need printer paper and ink......gah! That means a trip out to the city which I was hoping to be able to avoid. Bang goes my No spend day, but if I don't get these letters done, they will cost me more in the long run.....

    So, list for today:
    • [STRIKE]check online banking[/STRIKE] done, including requesting money from paypal
    • [STRIKE]write and cancel a couple of DDs that I no longer need[/STRIKE] done
    • [STRIKE]sort out bike tax[/STRIKE] done
    • [STRIKE]write re accident claim[/STRIKE] done and emailed over
    • [STRIKE]make meal plan for the week[/STRIKE] done
    • do 2 dooyoo reviews one done
    • check for mystery shops nothing so far, will check again later
    • [STRIKE]do a phone mystery shop and submit results[/STRIKE] done - nice and easy!
    • Do 4 x half hour housework sessions three down, one to go

Lunchtime update.......most things done, but the housework has made only little impression.....(although I have done more washing and ironing, so the ironing pile is under control.....), so my last half hour will have to be a blitz I think!!
