I do feel very pleased that the debt is reducing, of course I do, but I still have this strange feeling of "loss"......not loss of the debt, but loss of what I *could* be doing with that sort of money.

I could have bought a car, or had my fortnight in the Maldives........*sigh*.

I know I shouldn't feel that way, but it is difficult not to!

I could have used the money to pay for 20 skips and a team of house clearers and cleaners.........

Just think what luxuries you can have once its all gone though hun xxx

It's not daft - both points of view are equally valid. The main problem with your debt is the freedom it has taken away.

I'm a bit scared as to what I'll do when (if ever!) the debt's gone. It's been the main thing for so long, it's almost become a hobby. Certainly the computer addiction...DH said the other day that he couldn't wait until I didn't spend every waking moment doing surveys, reviews, ebay and the likes, but to be honest I think I'd miss it! Not all of it, but definitely some. It's quite easy to get addicted to making free money, and when the need for the cash isn't there any more, it'll be weird not doing all those things.

Am I the only nutter who feels a bit like that?

I think a lot of us feel like that - that we are tied to how we live, at least to some extent, by the debt. That's not to say that we CAN'T have a life - I hope I have proved that by still allowing the children to ski etc, but it does mean that in order to get that holiday or whatever, the sacrifices can be significant - renting out a room, taking on extra jobs, surveys, reviews etc.

To be able to just go to work, come home and enjoy the space and the time is just a "concept" and has been for soo long!

No panda, you are not a nutter.......well, not much of one, anyway ;)

The time maybe, but think of all the stuff we can buy to clutter up the space in our homes when we're debt free!
