as for school if you need to request time off they can sometimes be really helpful. my son had 0ver 10 days off last summer to go to spain with his friend and family and due to friends family situation they said it was fine.... bearing in mind he was 14 and had NEVER had time off at any school for holidays before.

try to book it before or after a school holiday or when theres some teacher training days. also bear in mind different parts of the country have different holidays so depends on which dates they regard as school holiday. i have relation in south west (teacher) where we are from and her dates are different than my sons and when we lived back homw but still 30 miles away from her they were still different.

congrats again all ive applied for for comps are holidays, honeymoons and weddings and i was hoping for just 1 win in the next 10 years but based upon you maybe i might actually have a win this year!

Thanks everyone for your advice.

I decided to call the lady I spoke to on Monday and she was really nice.

She said she had confirmation that the person who needs to call me has all my information. She tried calling her while I was on the phone, but she was out of the office today.

She said she will try contacting her by email as she picks those up and will chase her to find out when I will hear. She said she will contact me teo let me know if she has managed to speak to her or not.

I told her I'm deperate to tell my girls and she was really surprised I had managed to keep it quiet for so long!

I asked her if she left a message on my answerphone not to mention Orlando as I don't want the girls to overhear it before I get to tell them.

I am a bit worried as I had a bad experience with the Australia win. The person who needed to contact me was aways for 2 weeks to start with, then he booked everything for us at peak time at Christmas (which he said would be OK), then we found out that the vouchers and hotels were NOT valid when we were going. He said he would sort it out and then I heard nothing, only to find out the PR company got changed before anythign had been sorted. Luckily the PR firm who took over were excellent and sorted everything for us and we were able to still go. It was fantastic, but I suppose I'm a little worried it will all go wrong again.

Hopefully I will be able to give you an update later today on my new win.

Nobody has rung me back yet. Prpbably have to wait until Monday now.

The Production Manager from Alan Titchmarsh rang me at about 5pm tonight.

He ran through the prize and I asked him about when I could take it and whetehr I could extend it.

Good news and bad news!

He looked at the Ts & Cs and said he could not see anything in there about when not to take it, so it should be OK to take it in school holidays.

It doesn't look like it will be able to be extended though as it is a package that is organised in America, so it will only be wht is overed (flight and 7 nights hotel and spa voucher). I can't understand why I could not just ask them to extend the flight to 7 day later and I pay for my own hotel, as it shouldn't alter the price of the flight.

He is going to speak to the people in the State on Monday and call me, but I now have his name and number to contact him.

So now trying to think of the best time to go!

Can't wait to be able to tell my daughters as the eldest has been talking about her friend and saying how it is her "dream come true" to go!

I'm going crazy as friends keep asking me if I have any plans for a holdiay this year and I can't tell them yet. The girls have been talking about their friend again who has just come back.

Roll on Monday - hopefully then I will have a rough idea when we can go etc.

The hard Rock Hotel is amazing....you will love it,take some earplugs though, as the music is loud and constant, esp by the pool.!!!!

I have not heard back from the man at ITV. He said he would call yesterday (Monday), after he spoke to the organiser in America, but he didn't. I am about to ring and leave a message on his answerphone.

I am desperate to tell my girls - it's over a week now that I found out and this is the hardest secret I have had to keep from them!
