- I bought an item for a few pounds and paid £5 for first class postage. The seller had private feedback but high positives so I thought I'd gove them the benefit of the doubt. I wanted the item and it was very reasonably priced. I paid by Paypal within seconds of the auction ending.
- A week later it hadn't arrived so I sent an email saying "Hi, just wondering if there was a problem with the item as it's not been received, thanks x"
- Got a reply two days later saying "It should be with you shortly"
- Waited another few days and sent another email saying "Hi, item still not arrived, could you tell me if it has been sent?
- No reply
- Waited a few more days and sent a final email saying "You haven't responded, I'm very disappointed, I hope that this can still be resolved etc" (condensed version but the email was still polite
)
- No reply
- After two weeks and two un-answered emails I was going to do a chargeback so went through the link on ebay but noticed that ebay recommends that you call the seller before doing a chargeback. I did an advanced search and got her number, rang her and she told me that the item had 'just' been sent first class  Fine!
- Got the item today 16 days after paying for it, left her positive feedback saying 'Item received, Thanks' ....
can i ask you yet again. how did you get my phone number. All my information is private and i shall be reporting you to ebay.

Well...its not so private if she has posted it on her ebay profile. I wouldn't worry too much tbh. But very cheeky of her nevertheless.0
-
From an external point of view this is very very funny!! It simply shows that the seller has little to no idea of how to use ebay or how to provide good service to your buyers!!
To the OP - doesn't matter if she does report you - ebay will not do anything about it. If she leaves negative feedback then appeal this with ebay.
Good luck!!Treat others as you would like to be treated :A0 -
she can't report you to ebay for that and ebay will tell her that.Accept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0
-
Also i would have left neutral feedback to warn other biddersAccept that some days you're the pigeon and some days you're the statue.0
-
yep ot possible
also if you requested to see her personal detaisl then an email will be sent to you and to her
i guess she mustve missed those email as well0 -
I certainly wouldn't have left positive feedback, you are waaaay too nice :money: Personally I would have not left feedback at all as a protest.
I would be tempted to email her back with the link to the bit about obtaining contact details and suggest that she might want to read the ebay terms and conditions as she seems unaware of what she has signed up to.
You have every right to seethe, I am seething for you in sympathy.

Thanks, I needed to get it off my chest.
I thought about leaving neutral feedback but as it is private anyway what good would it do? She'd probably neg me and that would SERIOUSLY p me off.
She's a cheeky so and so!
I don't think she would've sent the item if I hadn't phoned her. I think that she got very worried about me having her home address (she only lives a few towns away
). If she negs me I'll be on her doorstep!

cheeky! :mad:Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
I think you are right about only getting the item because you phoned.
I've had to phone sellers on one or two occasions for the same reason, you can almost hear the panic in their voice when you say 'hi I'm xxx on ebay and i bought item xxxx and was wondering if there was a problem....'

You're right soo, I was dreading phoning her and she sounded rather taken aback as she bumbled through the phoncall. When I asked why it had taken so long she replied "I've had a lot of things to post but have just sent the last lot now".
She was selling about 15 items after the one I bought and I was watching her feedback go up daily so she posted theirs before mine...
She had replied go my email a week earlier to say "Should be with you soon" ...'should?' sounds a bit ambiguous doesn't it?
Ah well, I won't be buying from a seller with private feedback again. I've learnt a valuable lesson.Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
Glad you got the item though Jay-Jay.
Some people are so weird!! I had to phone a buyer up once, the excuses I received!! I filed a NPB!!!
Hope they leave you positive feedback
