Redesign.....

Yes its true. There's a redesign on the way. And this one is the biggie.

We will be starting with the main site, the information architecture has already been designed, now it's a question of designing the look. the site will operate with tabs to navigate at the top and a browse bar on the right-hand side.

Each of the section pages will be split into categories, for example credit cards will be split into (from memory not looking at the plant but its something like this): reducing borrowing costs, playing with plastic, managing your cards and each will have its own sub pages people would like to look into more detail.

Obviously this is just a taster, we will also be having a completely new look and logo, but that that you're have to wait and see (don't even know what would it myself yet as I'm waiting for our designer to send me some drafts).

Once we have dealt with the main site, the Chat Forum will get a makeover too, though obviously when the main site changes the navigation and browser bar will be added to the chat forumat that time.

In the meantime

As a purely cosmetic measure the look and font of the current section pages has been changed. if you click on credit cards you will see a final version there, the rest of the section pages yet have the top and bottom bits tidied up or though the middle sections (where the articles are) now have the new colours and fonts.

I suspect many forumites won't be able to tell the difference, but the new colour, bigger fonts, clearest spacing, should help while we're looking at the proper redesign.
Note. My RSI is not good again so this is being done with speech dictation, forgive any strange words or things that I may say above, I'm in a Rush and haven't got time to read through to correct

Whilst you're at it could we get pins with the logo on, to stick on our jackets.

Or how about rubber wrist bands, like the fight poverty ones?

I'd pay, not much, but I'd pay.

    Cheers

    Al

PS Hope the RSI improves soon.

it's the latest version of Dragon soft. Interestingly the reason it's so much better is that just bought a better headset with microphone, and a vastly improved the accuracy of the speaking. So I would focus on that more than the software

so that users can quickly see whos who and where...

    Red for Abuse

    Blue for Webby

To be honest I think the avatars got now are quite simple and the name goes with them - to have different coloured ones would make it more confusing rather than less. While regulars would appreciate it - one fixed logo for officials is simplest :)

Thanks Martin, quite like the look of the CC page and the layout.

Any hints on how the Chat Forum will alter?

CC section looks very promising, and much clearer than the old system.

looking forward to the rest of the makeover

Have you tried accupuncure for your RSI? I had it a couple of weeks ago very successfully.
