Well done Kev that is fantastic news!!!
I've sent my initial statement/charge request letter to Lloyds TSB so fingers crossed they comply nice and easily.
Has anyone had success with claiming charges back from Lloyds TSB?? I've heard lots of success stories for other banks but not Lloyds.
My mantra is "Never pay full price!" ;)

£35 mate, Is it possible to backdate charges if someone has just found out that the charges can be claimed back?? if so, how long could you backdate them to?

You can backdate up to 6 years (or 6 years from the time you last made contact regarding a debt)

As for pixie, check out the bank charges - illegal thread, there is a post on there that will help you force the bank to give you records regarding your account, regardless wether you have a DMP or not they have a legal obligation to give you access to your records
  • have two accounts with lloyds tsb my bank carges on both over the last 4 yrs is over £2000 {you can look at statements for four yrs in online banking} I have just sent my first letter and intend to claim on both accounts. I have had to take out two bank loans to cover my overdraft in the past. I have also sent a letter regarding my £90 charges for this month asking if they are intending to take the money now it has been found that excessive charges are unlawful. I would also like to know if lloyds have paid out before thanks
  • Hi there,

I am currrently looking to claim back approx £2500 of charges from Smile. Has anyone got any experience of dealing with them in this way?

Also I can only view 1 years worth of statements on-line and they want to charge me £10 for each statement before that. Surely this isn't right? Any advice.

    Many thanks

Read the many and various threads on these boards, and check out www.bankactiongroup.com

The legal maximum they can charge you if you apply for a list of charges under the data protection act is £10. I've posted the DPA request letter I sent to my bank on this board before, that should do the trick if you look it up.

Edit - my letter is posted here
    Highest Debt (Sept 04) -> £41,300 :(

    4) The total they paid included 8% interest (which i worked out correctly) and the 50 court fee

I've not yet checked anywhere, but can you also claim additional expenses? My RBS deadline expires on Wednesday, I sent the 2nd letter to them demanding money but I think I'll have to put a claim in.

As part of my claim, could I get somebody to "invoice" me say £500 in professional fees for legal guidance, say research on the subject and in supporting me in initiating the claim? :D

This person, probably a family member, would then split it 50/50 :) So can I say my expenses are then 550?

Unfortunately i dont think that would work

It also would'nt look good in court charging the bank punitive fees, when that is what you are sueing them for and is the basis of our claim ;)
