We currently have Freeview boxes/TVs/PVRs in four rooms. The loft aerial feeds a simple four channel amp in the loft, each channel feeding a room via a downlead.

We are getting a Sky+ HD installed this weekend. I'm new to Sky. Is there a smart way of feeding the Sky RF output to other rooms using the existing cabling (I don't want to run extra - it was awkward enough the first time) without losing Freeview capability?

Does the Sky RF out just modulate the Sky channel being watched onto the aerial feed, keeping the antenna signal intact? If so, do they pass-thru Freeview?

I would imagine you would rf out from the sky to the amplifier and leave all the other cables in place. You may have to bypass the freeview box in each room and direct rf into the tv.

have a look at that link.
I use one of these with an additional remote control so i can change channels without having to go to the source room.
I bought mines cheaper on fleabay
Im not sure if the magic eye would still work if running through an amplifier. Mines just runs through the rf out to the next tv rf in and I have not checked it through a freeview at that end. Would you still want the freeview if you were feeding sky in?
If you are wating to watch different channels in all the rooms at the same time you may need sky multiroom.
Im sure someone with a similar configuration will come along soon to advise more.

    Yup, that's about it.

Going back a few years we used to have a similar setup and what we did was run the primary aerial down to the lounge, through the Sky to the VCR, then back up to the distribution box in the loft, where it ran to the other TV's.
Thus every TV had both the original aerial input available, and could show what was on the Sky box or VCR.

We never used the magic eye though.

Thanks, that's what I thought. It does mean running another cable though (the aerial return from the ground floor to the loft).
