How long for a number port to go through?

Hi can anyone please let me know the timescale for a number port to go through? I called 02 with my pac code on the 11th and was given the date of the 14th but nothing happened so i left it till the 16th still nothing and phoned 02 who said it was going through and would happen by 6.30 so by 6.30 on the 17th still no change over and this morning when i switched my phone on with the number to be ported its still connecting to the old network How much longer should it take as its getting close to the pac code expiring and really dont want to go through it all again with 3.

I think all the networks are supposed to take no longer than 2 working days so that's why you were initially told the 14th. I'm guessing you haven't received any confirmation by text or letter which is usually the norm as well. Personally, I'd give them another call and stress the fact that it should have been done and that you want some sort of written confirmation incuding text or e-mail.
Ask for the name of the person your dealing with, mention that you've called a few times already and see if they can confirm your previous request.
They may even have a technical department connected to the porting team who may be able to give you more info as to what happened and to what's happening.
Occasionally these things happen but it's usually 2-3 days.

When I was changing to O2, it only took me a few hours to get my number, however I have a friend who was moving to Orange and it took just less than a month from the time they cut off the old phone, until she got her number ported to her new phone!

I called 02 who said 3 had supplied and invalid pac codeso back to 3 again, turns out the pac code is correct and 02 dont know why it didnt go through but have booked it in to port on wednesday so fingers crossed it does this time.
