Monday 20/4/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free;)
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Good morning lovely dfw's
,Hope you all have a lovely day today. The sun is shining so should be lovely here.
Hugs to anyone feeling poorly or down, hope you feel better soon.
Today I will

Woohoo I am on the first page!!:j
Morning all you lovely people, hope you all had a lovely weekend?
SM are you feeling better now?
So I am completely sick of Ebay as I listed 40 items yesterday, had a mass clearout and used the opportunity whilst OH was here to care for Pip to list them all even though it took 3.5 hours!!!
Couldnt sleep last night as I was mentally sorting things out in the flat and also clearing out cupboards and sifting through the rubbish in the house, couldnt stop doing it, does anyone else have this problem?
Anyway heres my list:- Scratchees
- Check on my 40 items, 4 had bids already last night.
- Take Pip for a walk in local park for free exercise.
- Finish making order of service cards for Naming Ceremony, much more DFW than ordering them and just as nice looking.
- Talk to my little seeds, when can I put them in the ground?
- Wait for Marshall Ward man to pick up the nasty dresses that looked good in book but were actually hideous! I am not paying for those monstrosties, back they go!
- Email my friend rather than call her.
- Opened post from flat to find 2 cheques from Abbey for the savings accounts I had long forgot about, £103 from 1 and £49 from the current account :j
- Speak to Payplan about maybe setting up a DMP?
- Store cupboard tea that was batch cooked yesterday.
Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T
2020 the year of less - Less debt, less waste, less spending, less stuff, less stress!0 -
Good morning all!
How is everyone today?
My 19-year-old sister was very upset last night. Turns out she'd been a bit careless with money this month, and only has £8 left until she gets paid on Friday. My parents paid for her weekly train ticket so she can get to college next week, and they also loaned her £50. She spent most of the night holed up in our room because she was scared that my parents would yell at her (which they had no intention of doing). Poor baby... I think tonight I need to sit her down with a spreadsheet and explain the concept of budgeting, and regularing checking your account balance.
Today I have/will:- done daily clicks and free scrathcard (10p and 25p)
- go to my local bank to enquire about an ISA
- Go into uni to work on assignment
- Listen to radio plays through BBC iPlayer
- Visit Gran and run any errands for her
- Tidy my bedroom

Morning everyone!
PipsMum - Keep a notebook by your bed so that you can write anything down if you wake up/can't sleep.
Well I started my diary last night - I won't really be doing very much on it until next month but at least it is one place to get my DFW goals listed.
Today I am going to spend money - I have really been wanting to get back into Yoga. I am not a sweaty betty type of exerciser so the gym isn't a great option for me. I had a great yoga teacher until about 2 years ago - we were so spoiled but unfortunately she died. I was very spoilt but I have found a class that is reasonably priced just down the road. I am going to trial the class tonight for £6.
My list for today:- 2 hours revision
- check time for yoga class
- check bank accounts
- Walk for 30 mins (easier now that it is a lovely day)
- 20 mins clean bedroom - it is a bombsite!
- Ironing
- Storecupboard dinner
Have a lovely day everyone!
