I have been on that tarriff for ages, but the minimum was to buy £2.50 in a bundle to get 25 mins of calls (or £5 for 50min etc) so they have increased the usage. I hope its not retrospective to existing usere !!

I cant see how you have been. They only just launched it.
All you were doing was buying 30 day bolt ons.

The three tariffs they now do are explained here.

Tesco do (or did) "bundles" where you for example top up £10 on the phone which lasts forever (or until you use it) and you can buy "bundles" of minutes like for example £2.50 gets 25 minutes of calls using your credit which last for 1 month or until you use them. The only drawback is when you buy a "bundle" you cannot buy another for one month even if you have used it all up therfore you start paying for calls out of your original £10 top up at 20p per minute or 10p to your 3 favourite numbers.

**** edit ... I see they are still doing the bundles on the standard tarriff which are great value for low usage. Wheras £15 minimum top up is getting into the pay monthly price range anyway.

I notice today that Tesco have introduced a new mobile phone tariff called Tesco Extra. The call charges are 10p per minute and texts 5p each, provided you top up with £15 worth of calls each month.

This link shows all three Tesco tariffs.

Okey dokey!! Thanks for that Edinburghlass.

I think the Tesco tariffs are killers especially as Orange have now messed about with their PAYG tariffs over the last day or two. Orange is becoming much less attractive.

Tesco looks the way to go now and it is hosted on quite a good network (O2).

    Regards.

Yes, and they have the three tariffs, which should suit most PAYG people. Also, you can get double points if you top-up instore.

Sorry this may be a stupid q: If they are hosted by O2 can you top up with an O2 top up card or do you have to go to a Tesco store? Or does ATM top up work?
Btw if you move from Orange PAYG to Tesco PAYG (or any PAYG) can you port your no?
